A businesswoman, 42, of Central Amelia’s Ward, Linden and a driver, 36, of Bamia, Soesdyke-Linden Highway have been arrested in connection with the alleged seizure of several guns, ammunition and a large quantity of marijuana, the Guyana Police Force said on Sunday.
Investigators said the items were found on Sunday morning at 1:30 at a house in Central Amelia’s Ward, Linden.
Police said they received information and searched a motor lorry parked at the residence and found 4.536 kilogrammes of marijuana in a haversack behind the driver’s seat.
Further checks, police further alleged, led to the discovery of three 9mm pistols and nine .32 rounds of ammunition concealed among the suspected cannabis.
