Human remains found aback East Coast Demerara village

Last Updated on Sunday, 10 July 2016, 22:15 by Denis Chabrol

A quantity of human bones was discovered Sunday in the backlands of Bee Hive, East Coast Demerara, police said.

Divisional Commander for  East Demerara,   Marlon Chapman said a skull and several other bones were found in the backlands about eight miles inside the village.

From all accounts, farmers stumbled on the human remains and alerted police.

Chapman said investigators would send the bones to a pathologist to determine, among other things, how long they were there. He said that based on the look of the bones, they were there for quite some time.
