Elderly North West District man found dead on roadway

The body of an elderly man and a damaged motorcycle were found on the roadway at Moruca late Saturday night.

Investigators are working on the theory that Ignatius Francis of Kumaka, North West District might have been struck down by a vehicle that subsequently fled the scene.

“An abandoned damaged motor cycle was found in the vicinity and it is suspected that he may have been the victim of a hit and run accident.,” police said in a statement.

Francis’ body was found on the roadway at about 11:40 PM on Saturday, June 27, 2015.
