East Bank Demerara man shot during home invasion

An  East Bank Demerara man was shot during a home invasion, although the bandits did not find anything of value, police said.

Injured is 46-year old Gowkarran Rampersaud of New Providence Scheme, East Bank Demerara.

Police said that about 2:30 AM Sunday, June 28, 2015 two men entered Rampersaud’s home through an open door and one of them held him at gunpoint.

“They demanded cash and valuables but after not getting anything significant to them they shot the victim to his left foot and escaped,” police said in a statement.

Rampersaud has been admitted to hospital
