Two gold miners were attacked at gunpoint in the city Saturday night and robbed of cash and valuables.
Andre De’ Abreu, 34, was shot to his left side and has been admitted to a hospital.
His friend, 35-year old Jason Ramjattan, who was in De’ Abreu’s car, at the time was robbed of his cellphone.
Investigators were told that about 10 PM Saturday, were chatting on the roadway at Thomas Street when they were attacked by two men armed with hand guns.
The quantity of money carted off from the motor vehicle was not immediately known.
