A tailor was early Tuesday night stabbed to death during a robbery on his way to his Golden Grove, East Bank Demerara home.

He has been identified as 36-year old Bharrat Pitamber of 310 Section C, Block Y, Golden Grove. The incident occurred at about 7:30 PM.

He sustained a stab wound to his left side chest. Two persons apparently committed the offence.

Investigators said the incident occurred at a short-cut through which he was riding to go home.  The dark area is located in the vicinity of the Diamond Secondary School.

Sources said the man apparently put up resistance because his hands were cut and his bicycle bar was several feet away from his body. His bag was also found on the bicycle.
