Security guard shot, robbed of cheap cellphone

A security guard was shot and injured Sunday night by two men who robbed him of his cellular phone valued GUY$3,000, relatives said.

Relatives said 24-year old Terrence Phillips of Aubrey Barker Road, South Ruimveldt, and Sophia sustained gunshot injuries to his abdomen.

He is an employee of Pritipaul Singh Investments (PSI), Meadow Bank, East Bank Demerara.

His relatives, who were at the Georgetown Hospital while he was receiving treatment inside, said he was shot about three doors away from his home in Sophia. He told relatives that the two youths, believed to be in their 20s, threatened to “close you off (kill)” if he raised an alarm.
