Several RUSAL workers were injured early Saturday night when a bus turned over on the Mines Road,Kwakwani, according to sources in the bauxite community.
Up to late Saturday night, X-rays were still being conducted on several of the injured persons. Four of the 10 occupants were admitted to the Kwakwani Hospital for observation, a source said. Other sources said an ambulance was on standby to shuttle the injured to the Linden Hospital if doctors transfer them.
At the time of the accident, the bus was taking the employees to work on a deplorable road worsened by heavy rainfall and poor maintenance.
The Mines Road runs through Huru Hururu and links Kwakwani to Aroaima.
