Four men are on the run after they pounced on three Chinese nationals as they were exiting their car on arrival at their Eccles, East Bank Demerara home on Friday afternoon, the Guyana Police Force said.
The alleged robbery occurred at 3:53 p.m. when they were attacked by four “identifiable males”, one of whom was armed with a handgun.
Investigators were informed that the men allegedly took the Chinese into the house and allegedly ransacked the upper and lower flats, during which they relieved them of GY$500,000, US$900, 1,000 Mexican pesos, $200 Hong Kong, a Chinese ID card and other documents.
CCTV footage from cameras attached to the residence was extracted and forms part of the ongoing investigation, police said.
