Body of kidnap victim found

The body of kidnapped East Coast Demerara (ECD) businessman Rajendra Singh has been found.

Sources confirmed that that the body was discovered in Le Repentir Cemetery Wednesday morning and it was later confirmed by the police in a press release.

“During this morning, Wednesday April 09, 2014, the body of Rajendra Singh, of Hope West, Enmore, ECD, was found in the Le Repentir Cemetery, Georgetown, with suspected bullet wounds to his head and with his hands tied,” the brief release stated.

 singh had been snatched outside his business place at Foulis, ECD, Saturday night by two men and an initial ransom demand of $50M had been made. That was subsequently lowered to $25M though so far it in not known if any was paid.

Demerara Waves Online News understands Singh’s relatives visited the cemetery and also positively identified the body as his.
