Investigators at the crime scene searching for spent shells, warheads and any other evidence .

City businessman, Deonarine ‘Ram’ Sanasie was shot and seriously injured while drinking with several persons opposite his business place, Ram’s Auto Spares, at Fourth and Light Streets, Alberttown.

Ram was shot to one of his legs and his abdomen, a police source said. The incident occurred about 6:15 PM outside a spare shop named ‘Hose and Bolts’.

A man who was inside the shop said two men rode up on a CG motorcycle and one of them opened fire at the businessman. He recalled hearing three gun shots.

They fled the scene without robbing Ram or anyone else, raising questions about the motive for the shooting.

He was rushed to the Balwant Singh Hospital where at least two family members were downstairs and declined to speak about the incident. “Move from in front of me before I blow,” a sobbing and distressed young lady told reporters.

At the scene, police spoke with several persons and combed the area. Unofficially, a man said police recovered two war heads from the bloodied crime scene.
