A man was robbed of his gun, abducted, shot about his body and dumped out of a car that was later ditched in Sophia.
Police said a man and a woman have since been arrested in connection with the incident after one bullet was found in their house at South Sophia.
Following is the police statement:
At about 1910h. last night Friday June 26, 2015, Devon Chung of Guyhoc Park, Georgetown, was in conversation with another man at Durban Street and Cemetery Road, Georgetown, when two men armed with firearms approached and held them up.
The man with Devon Chung was placed to lie on the ground and his licensed pistol and ammunition taken away and Devon Chung was forced into a waiting motor car. He was taken into Sophia where he was shot to his chest and back and thrown out of the vehicle and the perpetrators escaped. The motor vehicle was found overboard in a trench in the area.
Devon Chung was taken to a hospital where he has been admitted for medical treatment.
Investigations being conducted led to a search on a house at South Sophia where a .32 round was found. A man and a woman have been arrested and are in police custody assisting with the investigations.
