Bandits, guards in gun fight at Issano mining camp

Security personnel and four armed bandits exchanged gunfire, leaving one of the thieves injured during an attempted robbery at a mining camp at Issano, sources said.

The incident occurred shortly after 7 AM Friday at S &S Barakat Mining Inc’s mining camp at 72 Miles Issano, Kaburi.

Up to Friday evening, security guards were pursuing the men in the forested area of Region Seven. They were said to be armed with hand guns.

The injured bandit was not captured.
