A taxi driver was Wednesday arraigned for allegedly robbing a man of jewellery worth GUY$500,000 bail.
Gregory Halls of 59 Parfaite Harmonie, West Bank Demerara was charged with larceny from the person that he allegedly committed on March 13 at Water Street, Georgetown.
He allegedly robbed Badrinauth Seeraj of one gold and diamond band. Halls denied having any similar pending matters.
He said he was just picked up on March 15 near Stabroek Market and told that he was wanted for that alleged robbery.
Despite the prosecution’s objection to bail, he was granted GUY$200,00i bail and told to return to court on April 9.
