The relatively quiet West Bank Demerara village of Goed Fortuin was Wednesday morning rocked by an attempted murder and suicide by a married couple.
Investigators were told that 25-year old Tamika Patterson was stabbed about her body at a yard next door to where she and her husband lived. The incident occurred about 2:30 AM.
She was hospitalised at the Intensive Care Unit of the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPHC) in a critical condition.
Her husband, 30-year old Andrew Patterson, was found hanging at a yard in the Roraima Housing Scheme, Versailles, West Bank Demerara.
Police said the two had a history of domestic disputes.
