After tying the man’s feet, they entered the kitchen through a backdoor and attacked his wife, Kamarun Nesha Majid, while she was washing dishes in the kitchen.

The woman related that one of the bandits squeezed her neck while demanding cash and jewellery and threatening to shoot her.

Eventually, they carted off with more than GUY$100,000 in cash, US$200 and the remainder in jewellery. “A sum of cash and a quantity of jewellery is reported missing,” police said in a statement.

They then tied the 74-year old woman and said it was time to go. After the left, the woman managed to untie herself and called for her husband in vain.

Eventually, she found her hypertensive husband in the bond with his feet tied and bleeding through his nose.

She believed that he was still alive and got help to take him to the Skeldon Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
