“Two kick” charged with killing elderly aunt

Last Updated on Saturday, 10 October 2015, 11:21 by GxMedia

Devon “Two Kick” Griffith
The man, who allegedly raped and killed his 78-year old great aunt, was Friday charged with murder.

He is 23-year old Devon “Two Kick” Griffith of Cemetery Road, Hopetown Village, West Coast Berbice.

Appearing before Magistrate Rhondell Weaver at the Fort Wellington Court, the deportee and alleged drug addict is charged with the murder of Vaulda Britton.

The incident occurred at 9 Main Street, Hopetown, West Coast Berbice.

Police Prosecutor, Corporal Racquel Mars told the court that Griffith  was killed in the furtherance of rape at about
3 AM, Sunday, October 4, 2015. The court was told Griffith performed anal and vaginal sex without consent and strangled the woman.

Griffith was wanted in Antigua several years ago for a similar offence.

The man, who appeared expressionless in court, was remanded to jail until November 11, 2015.

Britton moved to Hopetown last year after her 85-year old husband, William “Hassar Cock” assaulted her, causing her actual bodily harm. He was sentenced to four months imprisonment.
