A young Guyanese woman was Friday night arrested moments before she was about to board a flight to Barbados allegedly with cocaine in her possession.
A senior official of the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) confirmed the drug bust at the Ogle International Airport. Anti-drug agents said the woman strapped some of the 500 grammes of cocaine to her body and inserted the remainder in her vagina.
The woman, who gave her occupation as a waitress, should have left on a LIAT flight to the Caribbean island, which appears to be increasingly a country of choice for drug traffickers from Guyana.
Only recently, a female teacher and another woman were arrested allegedly with cocaine that they were about to leave with for Barbados.
