The search continued Wednesday with no trace up of a Guyanese woman who was reported missing while visiting Kaieteur National Park with eight other persons.
A senior police officer, who is directly connected with the search, said up to 6:57 PM he had received no information from a search party that was joined by other persons who are familiar with the terrain.
Missing is Gyaneshwarie Sivanand.
She and the other domestic tourists were flown by Air Services Limited (ASL) to Kaieteur for a two-hour visit but at the end of the tour at 4 PM Tuesday, she was not seen. A search was conducted and Sivanand was not seen.
All tour flights to Kaieteur have been suspended, except for those that have to do with the search for the young woman.
A police team arrived on the ground after 11 AM Wednesday and immediately joined other persons on the ground.
The only available mobile communication on the ground is by satellite.
