Cook stabbed to death at Tuschen residence

A cook was stabbed to death and her body found on Monday in a pool of blood on the veranda of her residence, police said.

She has been identified as Sonia Wilson, 45, of Block 8, Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo.

Police said the woman’s body was discovered lying motionless, but did not say who found it and reported it to police.

The Guyana Police Force said no one was arrested and investigators would review video recordings from CCTV cameras seen in the area.

Investigators said the body was examined and several wounds were observed.

Police also picked up a knife at the scene.

Wilson’s body was escorted to the De Kinderen Regional Hospital where it was confirmed dead.
