Cook stabbed to death at Tuschen residence

A cook was stabbed to death and her body found on Monday in a pool of blood on the veranda of her residence at Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo, police said.

She has been identified as 45-year old Sonia Wilson of Block 8, Tuschen.

Police said the woman’s body was was discovered lying motionless, but did not say who found it and reported to police. The Guyana Police Force said no one was arrested and investigators would review video recordings from Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras that were seen in the area.

Investigators said the body was examined and several wounds were observed, and a a knife was also found at the scene and taken into Police custody.

The body was removed and escorted to the De Kinderen Regional Hospital, where Wilson was pronounced dead on arrival by a doctor on duty.
