A joiner was stabbed to death early Monday morning a short distance from his residence at Phase 1, Good Hope, East Coast Demerara.
He has been identified as 23-year-old Navin “Buddy” Jangbir.
The incident occurred at about 12:45 a.m. during an altercation between him and a group of males.
“During the altercation, Jangbir reportedly sustained a stab wound to the left side of his abdomen. He subsequently collapsed in the vicinity of his residence,” police said.
No one has been arrested.
Police said they were reviewing CCTV in the area.
The Guyana Police Force said emergency medical technicians responded to the scene and Jangbir was pronounced dead at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation.
