Buxton labourer charged with robbing Montrose woman

A 53-year old man of Brush Dam, Buxton, East Coast Demerara is on GY$150,000 bail pending trial for a charge of robbery under arms allegedly committed on a woman in Vryheid’s Lust, East Coast Demerara.

The Guyana Police Force did not release the particulars of the offence, but said that he allegedly robbed a 47-year old self-employed woman of Montrose, East Coast Demerara on Monday, February 9, 2026.

Mr Joseph George appeared at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court on Thursday before Senior Magistrate Clive Nurse, who read the charge to him.

Police said Mr George pleaded not guilty and was granted $150,000 bail.

The matter was adjourned to March 17.
