Home Affairs ministry launches online immigration services platform

Last Updated on Tuesday, 7 October 2025, 23:18 by Writer

The Ministry of Home Affairs on Tuesday announced the launch of its  virtual Immigration Support Services (ISS) platform to allow persons to apply for various types of visas and extensions of stay, and pay at the ministry or through Mobile Money Guyana (MMG).

“For citizens, this new system offers significant benefits, shorter wait times, reduced congestion at service counters, and the convenience of applying anytime, anywhere from home or office. This means greater accessibility to immigration services and faster overall processing, contributing to more efficient and citizen-centric service delivery,” Minister of Home Affairs Oneidge Walrond said in a statement.

Government, however, said walk-in applicants would continue to be accommodated to ensure inclusivity. Walk-in applicants would have access to a dedicated system at the ISS to complete their applications independently, with staff available to offer guidance if required.

According to the ministry, the new eServices platform, https://eservices.iss.gov.gy, will accept applications for employment, business, student, visitor visas, and stay extensions. Applicants may conveniently register online, and upload required and supporting documents, the ministry added.

The platform was built through collaboration between the Home Affairs ministry and the National Data Management Authority (NDMA), a move the ministry said is a milestone that marks another major step in the Government’s ongoing efforts to modernize public administration and improve service delivery through technology.

The platform improves workflow efficiency, transparency, and user experience, aligning with the Government’s wider commitment to building smarter, technology-driven public services, she said. “The Ministry is bridging traditional service delivery with modern technology to create a future where digital solutions simplify lives and strengthen institutions,” Minister Walrond added.

The launch of the ISS eServices platform underscores the Government’s commitment to delivering efficient, transparent, and citizen-friendly services in keeping with Guyana’s digital transformation goals, the Home Affairs ministry also said.
