Twenty-four year old Naipaul Beharry appeared in the Georgetown Magistrates’ court charged with embezzlement.
Beharry stood before City Magistrate Fabayo Azore where the charge read that on may 1, 2015 and July 31 2016 while being a clerk at a firm, he fraudulently embezzled GYD $4.9 million dollars in the name of his employer, Ramgobin Mohanlall.
He pleaded not guilty.
Police prosecutor simone Payne did not object to bail being granted but asked that a substantial amount be applied.
As such magistrate Azore granted bail in the sum of GYD$250,000 dollars and ordered that Naipaul beharry return on June 7.
