Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Public Security dies

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Public Security, Angela Johnson died Friday afternoon after a brief illness, sources said.

She passed away at a city hospital.

Staff members of the Ministry of Public Security are said to be shocked at her death. She had been away from duty for about two weeks.

Johnson served as Permanent Secretary since about 2002.

She was the chief administrator under several ministers, Commissioners of Police, Prison and Fire Chiefs.

A senior functionary at the Public Security Ministry said, among other things, “she was a hard worker.”
