The Head of the University of Guyana’s Law Department, Sheldon Mc Donald died Wednesday night, several days after he was involved in a vehicular accident.

The Jamaica-born Mc Donald was one of the early architects of what is now the Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ).

Although his condition was listed as serious, students and family members have been plunged into a state of shock and grief at the passing of Mc Donald, known for his outspoken and frank stance.

He  had sustained serious injuries and damage to one of his lungs after a car slammed into the vehicle he was driving. At the time of the accident, he was waiting to leave an area near a ‘drinking spot’ at Success, East Coast Demerara.
