‘Red Cap’ from Tiger Bay fatally stabbed

A man well-known as Red Cap was stabbed to death in the north-western Georgetown area known as ‘Tiger Bay,’ police said.

Police have since arrested the prime suspect in the incident.

Following is a statement from the Guyana Police Force on the incident:

Investigations are being conducted into the circumstances surrounding the death of a man so far identified as ‘Red Cap,’ 43 years, of Rosemary Lane, Georgetown, which occurred at about 1720h. today Saturday August 29, 2015, at Rosemary Lane.

Investigations so far have revealed that ‘Red Cap’ was involved in an altercation with another man at Rosemary Lane during which he was fatally stabbed.

The suspect, who had injuries to his body, has been arrested and was admitted a patient under guard at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC).
