Several armed robbers early Wednesday morning tied up a guard at Caricom Insurance/National Cooperative Credit Union Limited, Ruimzeight, West Coast Demerara and broke into a vault.

They also ransacked the offices of the entity.

Sources said one of the bandits placed a gun in the security guard’s mouth.

Police said no one has been arrested, but the security guard was taken to a police station for questioning.

Crime-sleuths would be unable to view surveillance video because the bandits ripped out the Video Recorder and carted it away.

Up to about 8 AM, workers were prevented from entering the premises as top company officials assisted investigators.

Caricom Insurance’s location on Regent and Oronoque Streets, Georgetown has been robbed several times in a similar manner.
