Three men have been arrested, along with two guns and a large quantity of cash, following a GUY$1 million robbery committed on a businessman, police said.
Investigators were told that at about 1PM Saturday, August 1, 2015, 43-year old Naresh Pooran of Enmore, East Coast Demerara was robbed of the cash and his licensed pistol at Coomacka, Linden.
“Subsequently, police ranks at a roadblock at Nottinghampshire, Linden, stopped and searched motor car HB 4064 in which the stolen firearm and ammunition along with $859,000.00 and an unlicensed .38 revolver with 3 rounds were recovered,” the Guyana Police Force said in a statement.
Three men have been arrested and are in police custody assisting with the investigations.
