Two of four men, who allegedly scaled the fence of SOL Guyana Inc at Agricola, Georgetown, were arrested following a shootout with police that resulted in one of them being injured.

“At the scene the police ranks came under fire and returned fire hitting Michael Gobin, 30 years, of Hogg Street, Albouystown, to his hand and foot,” police said in a statement. He has been admitted under guard at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC).

Investigators were told that at about 8:15 PM Sunday July 19, 2015, the police responded to information received from a member of the public that a number of men were seen jumping over a fence into the compound of the fuel supplier.
