Prominent Amerindian Rights activist, Jean La Rose is the opposition coalitionās Deputy Representative of the List, according to a well-placed source.
La Rose will be the deputy to Professor Harold Lutchman.
Lutchman and La Rose are expected to be among top officials of A Partnership for National Unity+ Alliance For Change (APNU+AFC) who would be presenting their list of candidates Monday afternoon.
Receiving the list would be Chief Elections Officer of the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM), Keith Lowenfield.
The Amerindian People’s Association (APA), which La Rose heads, has had numerous clashes with government over various rights issues including land demarcation and the allocation of lands to local and foreign miners.
A top official of the coalition has told Demerara Waves Online News that the Representative of the List would be the custodian who would inform the Chief Elections Officer of the candidates to sit in the 65-seat House following the May 11, 2015 general and regional elections.
