A construction worker was Tuesday jailed for two years for robbing a police intelligence officer and another man at knifepoint at the Promenade Gardens earlier this year.
Neil Clark of 164 East Ruimveldt, Georgetown was found guilty of robbery under arms and attempt to commit a felony by City Magistrate Ann Mc Lennan
Clark pleaded guilty to the offences that he committed on January 6 at Middle and Carmichael Streets, Georgetown.
The prosecution’s facts are that he and another man robbed policeman, Lakeram Rooplall, of one cellular phone valued GUY$27,000, a wallet worth GUY$1,200 and GUY$5,000 cash.
He was also convicted for attempting to rob Delroy Griffith.
The prosecutor said that while Clark and his accomplice attempted to rib Griffith at knifepoint, public spirited citizens arrived on the scene. However, the robbers fled the scene. They were later arrested and placed before the court.
