Last Updated on Tuesday, 2 December 2014, 22:50 by GxMedia

San Juan, Dec 2 (EFE).- The president of the Inter-American Development Bank, Luis Alberto Moreno is scheduled to visit Jamaica on Dec. 18 to celebrate the IDB’s 45 years of partnership with the Caribbean country.

The government of Jamaica announced Tuesday that Moreno will visit IDB-funded projects as well as participate in a ceremony at the construction site of the new IDB offices in Kingston.

Moreno will also meet with Prime Minister Portia Simpson-Miller, Finance and Planning Minister Peter Phillips, and other senior officials on Dec. 19, the government said in a statement.

IDB funding to Jamaica includes support for programs to improve fiscal sustainability, to enhance social protection and security measures, and to improve the business climate
