A man from Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo was ambushed, shot and robbed of more than GUY$1.6 million on the Eccles Old Road, East Bank Demerara on Friday afternoon.
Police said that about 2:30 PM, Persaud,34, of 139 Tuschen,East Bank Demerara was in a motor vehicle along with a friend when they were attacked by two men on a motor cycle armed with firearms.
They were held at gunpoint and Persaud was robbed of GUY$1,168.000.00, during which he was shot to his left hand and left thigh.
The men escaped on the motor cycle. Persaud has been admitted at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation.
