Guns, ammo seized in Potaro River area

Police patrolling the Wowasie Creek area, Potaro River seized two guns and ammunition in little more than two hours on Monday.

The first seizure of one .30 revolver and 13 matching rounds were found about 3 PM in possession of a man. Police said the gun and ammo were in his pants pocket.

Another .38 revolver was found stashed in the canopy of an All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) at about 5:30 PM. There were also six matching rounds.

No one has been arrested in connection with that find, but investigations are in progress.
