Police on Monday said hey were probing why a man entered a house at Pafaite Harmonie and set it ablaze, killing a man named Jason.
Crime sleuths hoped that a man they arrested could assist them in solving the crime.
Investigators said his charred remains were found in a house at 201Parfaite Harmonie, West Bank Demerara, at about 2 O’clock Monday morning.
“Investigations revealed that a man entered the house through a window. A fight subsequently ensued between himself and Jason, an occupant of the house who he had knocked unconscious. He then set the building afire and escaped,” police said in a statement.
Jason’s full name, age and address were not known.
Three other occupants of the house suffered burns while Jason perished in the fire.
