Police are expected to conduct ballistic tests to match a large quantity of spent shells seized from a house in the City with those found at crime scenes as well as guns seized from criminals, a high-ranking police officer said Monday.
It is unclear how much information ballistic experts can glean from the rounds due to the condition in which they were found.
A police spokesman said that about 7:30 Sunday night, lawmen searched a house at James and Victoria Streets, Albouystown during which four AK-47 magazines and a quantity of spent shells of various caliber ammunition were found.
Two men have been arrested and are in police custody assisting with the investigations, spokesman Ivelaw Whittaker said in a statement.
