Church’s Chicken lost a consignment of chicken in a boat collision on the Essequibo River Friday afternoon, a senior Region Seven official said.

Region Seven Chairman, Gordon Bradford confirmed that the accident occurred but no one was injured in the Parika-bound boat that taking passengers.

He, however, said that the consignment of chicken that was being taken to the Bartica branch of Church’s was lost in the waterway because that boat sank due to serious damage.

A source said that a Guyana Defence Force (GDF) boat responded to a distress call.

An official of Church’s Human Resources Department, who declined to give her name, would only say “We are verifying a few things. We have no comment.”
