Africanised bees kill retired handwriting expert

The one-time lone handwriting expert in the Guyana Police Force (GPF) died on Sunday after he was stung by Africanised bees while weeding his backyard , a source said.

He has been identified as Retired Sergeant Ivor Thomas of Fellowship, West Coast Demerara.

Thomas was rendered unconscious and was rushed to the Leonora Diagnostic Centre where he succumbed.

He was in his 60s.
