A 26-year old woman was early Friday morning shot and injured when four men drove up in a car alongside a vehicle she and other relatives were in on Garnett Street, Campbelville, police said.
Malika Da Silva of David Street, Subryanville, was shot to her chest. She is currently a patient at the Georgetown Public Hospital.
“Two of the men who were armed with firearms exited the vehicle. As they were approaching, Malika Da Silva attempted to drive away and the men opened fire hitting her to the chest,” police said in a statement.
The incident occured about 2:55 Friday morning. Neighbouring residents came out and the suspects drove away, police said.
