Two Chinese nationals were Wednesday night shot and injured during an apparent robbery in the vicinity of Robb and King Streets, Georgetown.
Police said Shai Zing, 44 years, and Lin Tang, 29 years, both of Robb Street, Georgetown, were among a group of other Chinese outside of the Zhang Xing business place at Robb Street when two men, one of whom was armed with a firearm, approached in a suspected robbery attempt.
During the incident the armed man discharged the firearm hitting Shai Zing to his buttocks and Lin Tang to his right foot. The perpetrators escaped in a waiting motor vehicle.
Shai Zing and Lin Tang were treated at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC).
Investigators intend to rely on video surveillance recordings to identify the attackers.
