A woman was shot dead late Wednesday night at the Country Club bar, Chateau Margot, East Coast Demerara following a brief argument with a man, sources said.
She has been identified as 42-year old Saleana. She lived in a small dwelling at the back of the business and worked as a bar tender in the absence of the owner.
She was shot to her forehead between her eyes about 11 PM.
The owner of the bar and a woman have been arrested in connection with the incident. He claimed that the woman who has been arrested called and informed him that another female had called her and told her about what had transpired. Investigators hoped to make contact with the second woman.
The owner claimed that when he arrived on the scene the bar was locked and the woman was seen lying in a pool of blood behind the counter.
