Woman chops niece severely during drinking spree

A 17-year old girl from Hubu Hill , Mabaruma was brutally stabbed about her body early Tuesday morning by her aunt at the North West District community.

Critically injured is Lynette Morgow who was stabbed several times about her abdomen and chest by her aunt during a drinking spree close to their home around 2 O’clock Tuesdsy morning.

Reports are that the two were among a group of relatives and friends imbibing at a shop in the area when an argument ensued between the two relatives.

The young lady physically assaulted her older relative and according to reports , the older woman broke a bottle and attacked her niece as persons tried desperately to quell  the situation.

Morgow was rushed to the Mabaruma Regional Hospital where she was stabilised and prepared to be air dashed to the city. She was brought to Georgetown around 6 am today and late Tuesday afternoon she was expected to undergo surgery.Her aunt is in police custody at the Mabaruma Police Station.
