The decomposed body a young woman, who was reported missing, was found early Wednesday night in an East Coast Demerara cemetery.
The woman has been identified as 19-year old Patricia Young of 52 Bachelors Adventure, East Coast Demerara.
Investigators said that after her boyfriend, Jamal Garnett, made a missing person’s report at 5:35 PM, he led them to an area where a slipper was found and Young’s body was seen under a jamoon tree in the Bachelor’s Adventure cemetery.
Police say Garnett, a labourer, is prime suspect because the probe has so far uncovered that Young, an employee of Beacon Foundation, texted him and told him to come out and meet her as he normally would.
He said he left and went out on the public road but did not see her Sunday night on her return from Georgetown.
