Fire destroys Anns Grove house

Investigators were up to Tuesday morning combing the debris to ascertain the cause of a fire which destroyed a house at Lot 8, Main Street, Ann’s Grove, East Coast Demerara.

According to reports 30-year old Shamalli Scott and her niece vacated about three weeks prior to the fire.

A fire official told Demerara Waves that neighbours said the fire started around 2 AM. However, Fire Service received the call about 2:30 AM.

The fire official further stated that upon arrival on the scene the back door of the house was ajar and the fire was concentrated on the western side of the building.

The owner of the house, Colin Fraser, resides over seas.

Investigations are continuing.
