The man who allegedly shot dead a policeman during a triangular love affair disagreement surrendered Thursday afternoon.A police force spokesman said 21-year old Steve Richard Bacchus turned himself in at the Sparendaam Police Station about 3 PM in the company of his lawyer.
He was wanted by the police in connection with the “murder” of Police Special Constable Quincy Wright at Guyhoc Park, Georgetown, on January 24, 2014.
Police said that Bacchus was also wanted in connection with the stealing of a gun from a security guard on January 22 in Sophia. The guard’s colleague was shot and injured.
Investigators were told that Wright was shot on leaving a female companion’s home at the same time that Bacchus had arrived but was told by the woman’s friend that she was not at home.
