Issano gold miner found dead; suspect arrested

A man has been arrested in connection with the discovery of the body of a gold miner with a piece of rope around the neck, police said.

The dead man has been identified as 31-years old Rupert Gray.

Investigators said his body was found Saturday, January 25, 2013 about 7 AM in a camp at 23 Miles, Issano Backdam, Mazaruni.

“Public-spirited citizens in the community arrested a suspect and handed him over to the police,” police said in a statement. He is in custody assisting with the investigations.
