Two employees of Federal Management System (FMS) were beaten, bound and gagged and a female relative raped before the lone intruder carted off jewellery and other valuables.
The incident occurred during the pre-dawn hours of Thursday at Prince William Street, Plaisance (closer to the seawall), East Coast Demerara , according to sources.
Those injured and receiving treatment at a city hospital are FMS mechanic, Roger George and Contracts Manager, Tashaya Mc Donald. The identity of the woman who was raped was not released.
Investigators said the man entered through a western window and left through the back door.
On leaving, the gunman opened fire. Neighbours summoned an FMS patrol which discovered the three persons tied up with duct tape in the front room.
No one has been arrested. A report was made to the nearby Sparendaam Police Station.
A source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the trio is living in the house owned by the Chief Executive Officer of FMS.
