A hotelier is among several persons arrested in connection with the discovery of eight kilogrammes of marijuana at La Familia Hotel, South Ruimveldt, according to well-placed sources.
Contrary to an earlier report, the owner of the hotel was not charged in connection with the drug-find.
Others among the five persons are also expected to be charged following the operation, which began late Wednesday night and lasted until pre-dawn Thursday.
Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) agents also seized three vehicles during the raid.
Top CANU agents said at least one of those arrested remains a person of interest to United States (US).
