Two arrested for gunning down policeman

Two persons have been arrested in connection with the gunning down of a policeman in his house at North Sophia Squatting Area  Monday night.

Senior Police Superintendent, Whitney Bacchus said Constable 19406 Michael Cumberbatch was shot dead by the assailant during an argument.

“Investigations have revealed that Michael Cumberbatch was at home, when he was confronted by the perpetrator enquiring about one ‘Quacy’. An argument ensued, during which he was shot to his chest,” the Guyana Police Force spokesman said in a statement.

A handgun was used to kill Cumberbatch who was attached to the Tactical Services Unit.
